SiMPSON DiD iT!

...we UPSET our BiGGEST RiVAL, the Central Dutch in a nervewracking, but AMAZiNG football game last Saturday!

It was a COLD, COLD day, but the STORM was HOT...we went ahead 17-7; Central fought back to tie it (thankfully we held 'em to only a field goal) & the game went in to OT. We scored on a 2nd down 25 yard pass. Then on Central's 2nd down, STORM senior Tim Stover INTERCEPTED it to WiN 24-17! The fact that it was AT CENTRAL made the win even better.

I wish I could see the replay! :D

This was the PERFECT end to a 7-3 season & PERFECT beginning to a new SiMPSON STORM DOMiNATiON..it was very special for the seniors, the NEW coaching staff, the 8 SPiRiTED shirtless guys cheering on a freezing day, & the entire SiMPSON community.

I'M BAAAAACK! :)

Well, after my poor ole blog was stagnant for so long...SIMPSON TiFF has finally returned after about a 6 month hiatus. That's right...I can see y'all JuMpiNg for JOY now, LOL...

I've had a great summer & I hope you all have, too! Summer is my by far my FAVORiTE season, because I love spending time outside - particularly boating on the lake with my friends in Minnesota & camping, not to mention SUN & WARMTH is GOOD! :)

At SIMPSON, we've remained busy with Summer Orientation, Iowa Private College Week, my Minnesota Send-Off (going away party for incoming Minnesota students & alumni) Move-In Day last weekend and of course planning for our fast-approaching travel season & NEW recruitment year! ...which I'm SO ExCiTeD for! We also have a SUPER new addition to our already AWESOME Admissions Staff - Andrea McNamara '05, who will be working with students in Northeast Iowa. She's an adorable young lady who adds a sweet SpArK to the office!

Of course, I also have to mention how thrilling it was (as it is every year) to see all my students move in to their dorms last Saturday - apprehensive, but excited about what awaits them! After working with these families for a year or more, it's so rewarding to see them happy to be @ SIMPSON & to know that I helped introduce it to them!

I'll write more later, so for now, I leave you with a link to our new Director of Academic Recruitment, Marty Feeney's useful Facebook group called "The SIMPSON COLLEGE Urban & Global Adventure - from Des Moines to Tahiti". With this group, you can read about & see pictures of some extraordinary opportunities SIMPSON students & alumni have experienced. Check it out here!
