SiMPSON DiD iT!

...we UPSET our BiGGEST RiVAL, the Central Dutch in a nervewracking, but AMAZiNG football game last Saturday!

It was a COLD, COLD day, but the STORM was HOT...we went ahead 17-7; Central fought back to tie it (thankfully we held 'em to only a field goal) & the game went in to OT. We scored on a 2nd down 25 yard pass. Then on Central's 2nd down, STORM senior Tim Stover INTERCEPTED it to WiN 24-17! The fact that it was AT CENTRAL made the win even better.

I wish I could see the replay! :D

This was the PERFECT end to a 7-3 season & PERFECT beginning to a new SiMPSON STORM DOMiNATiON..it was very special for the seniors, the NEW coaching staff, the 8 SPiRiTED shirtless guys cheering on a freezing day, & the entire SiMPSON community.

here. thERE. EVERYWHERE!

It is January 18th.

That's only 3 1/2 months till high school seniors make their final decision on where "home" will be for the next 4 years.

I have approximately 300 applicants from out-of-state that I work hard to stay in touch with, as well as keeping coaches up-to-date on their prospective athletes.

Financial aid awards begin going out in mid-March, during which I call every student.

And that is all squeezed into the following iNsAnElY cRaZy Spring travel schedule!

Keep in mind, this schedule takes mucho planning...
  • Calling and/or e-mailing super-busy guidance counselors to schedule about 120 high school visits...this is about as fun as pulling teeth, because the nice, organized list of perfectly mapped out times I start with is completely ScRaMbLeD into a giant PiNg-PoNg, ZiG-zAg pattern around a city!
  • Completely organizing two open houses AND two van trips & sending invitations to prospective students, alumni, student ambassadors, faculty & coaches
  • Registering, sending boxes of materials & sending postcards for all the college fairs
  • Reserving about 6 flights, 6 rental cars & 10 hotels
  • Quintuple-checking my luggage before leaving my house AND my hotel to make sure I not only have all my belongings, but also my mind! :P
Drum roll please...
